Off: I'm going to plop Ryen down at the reception awhile...I threw in a character just to start the interaction, but feel free to jump in and interact with him as your characters arrive.

::Arriving at the reception that evening::
Ryen had been exploring the ship and was quite impressed with what he had seen so far. It seemed that the ship was coming to life as the new crew came aboard. He had nodded and smiled at those he passed by during his stroll. "I can't believe how young the crew is" he thought to himself. "It's hard to believe they're old enough to be here."
Stepping into the reception hall, Ryen scanned the room. He was a little early and so most of the crew hadn't yet arrived. Several women near the bar caught his eye and he confidently strode across the room toward them. Leaning slightly on the bar he said "one Andorian Ale please." He noticed one of the women turn her head in his direction and looked over at her, making eye contact. "Hi" he said as he took the drink from the bartender.
"Hi yourself" she said to him flirtatiously, taking the opportunity to look him up and down.
"Can I get you something Miss..." he asked her.
"Linder. Ali Linder" she said. "And you are?"
"Ryen Sanchez" he replied. "I'm the new Chief Science Officer."
She nodded. "I'm in engineering."
"I'm glad she's not in my section" he thought to himself. "I guess that makes her fair game." "So would you like me to refresh your drink?"
"Thank you" she replied. "It's Saurian Brandy" she said handing him her glass.
"Barkeep" he said, putting her glass down on the bar and motioning at the bartender to get his attention. "Another Saurian Brandy for my friend Ali" he requested.
"Yes sir" the barkeep said as he filled the glass.
After speaking to the young woman for a time, she excused herself for a minute from the reception. Ryen noticed that the room had begun to fill up while he had been distracted by the beautiful woman.
<<Anyone?>>
"Hello" Ryen said, turning to greet the soldier at his side.
<<Anyone?>>
"Ryen Sanchez, Chief Science Officer" he said extending his hand.
<<Anyone?>>
"I'm glad to meet you" Ryen replied. I've only been here briefly, but I couldn't be more impressed. She certainly is quite an astonishing ship, isn't she?"
