Ryen grew up in southern Chile where his family had a
small farm and herded sheep. His father would frequently perform migrant work
in the north on in grape vineyards. When Ryen was only 5 years old, his mother
left him home alone with his brother Luke who was 7, never coming home again.
His father was forced to care for the two boys on his own, although he continued
to leave them alone during the day while he worked.
His father had always been physically and mentally abusive toward the boys and
it only increased when Ryen's mother left. Although Luke tried to protect his
little brother as much as he could, both boys would often be beaten for
misbehaving.
When Luke left home after finishing school, Ryen began to bear the brunt of his
father's anger. In order to better stand up for himself, he worked out and
became strong enough to protect himself.
When Ryen finished school, he left home and worked for a time for a logging
company. He was quickly recognized for his abilities and found himself as a lab
assistant for the company's ecological research division.
During this time, Ryen made many close friends and found himself quite popular
with women. He took advantage of his physical appearance and physique and
frequently engaged in promiscuous behavior.
One day he was approached by a woman he vaguely recognized. He assumed that he had slept with her but couldn't remember specifics. She revealed to him that they had met nearly a year earlier and had sex. Since then, she had given birth to a baby. He doubted her honestly, but knew that she had little reason to lie to him. She had no interest in having a relationship as they barely knew one another. Nevertheless, she knew enough of him to know that he wasn't wealthy.
He agreed to see the baby and intended to insist on a DNA screening. When he saw the baby he had no doubt that he was the father. Over the next three years, Ryen and Anise worked together to raise Caden. Although they did not live together, they became friends and Caden felt loved and at home with them both.
Shortly after Caden's third birthday, while traveling to visit family with his mother, the transport ship carrying them was lost. Wreckage was later found and all persons aboard were deemed lost after an exhaustive search. Ryen was unable to deal with the news and found himself falling into a deep depression. He quit his job and enlisted in the Marines in order to escape the pain of losing his son.
He found himself a natural in the Science area. His experience as the lab assistant was beneficial to him and assisted him in performing his duties effectively. His service and duty allowed him to advance quickly until he found himself on the Xantara as the Chief Science Officer.
Ryen Sanchez is played by our new comer Jeremy Beeler. Jeremy is fairly new to Star Trek pbem gaming but is obviously a terrific writter and has much potential. This is his first time playing with eWorlds Net! and is a good edition to our team.
